What is Run?

The third RRR question: where is price likely to travel?

The DefinitionRun, defined

The Run is the profit-taking objective — the next pool of liquidity price is likely to seek after the Reveal and Retrace confirm the setup. Runs typically target the opposite side of the range: if you entered short after a sweep of the highs, your Run targets the midpoint, the overnight low, or the next structure level below. The Run is where you exit, not where you hope.

Why It MattersWhy Run matters

Traders who don't know their target exit too early (leaving money on the table) or too late (watching winners turn into losers). The Run is defined before entry, so the exit is mechanical, not emotional.

In PracticeRun — a real example

Example · New York Session

Short from 5,842 after the sweep. Run target: overnight midpoint at 5,831. 11 points. Stop is 4 points above entry. 2.75R. Mechanical exit at the level — no greed, no fear.
